MiddleManNyc718 was on the seen as Dj/Producer Vega Benetton was kind of enough to show some love by asking me to come out and support him and the rest of his extended family for his photoshoot for "Urban Ink Magazine". The shoot was also away to introduce Vega's next upcoming project called "STREETS OF NEW YORK PT.2" ( APRIL 2009). Vega invited some of the emcee's featured on this new mixtape to come out and get some shine. From likes of TParris, Night, Unorthadox, Rugged, G.O., Blu, Promise, & Craze. The MiddleManNyc718 was blessed with the opportunity to to sit down and ask a few questions to the N.C. own Derty Den; one of the dirty south up and coming new artist that is bring the not so typical style that we are use to hear from the dirty south. a true EMCEE bring the word play and lyrics back to the fore front. checkout the intervieew...................


MMNyc718: Who is Derty Den?

Derty Den: North carolinas poster child,new voice of the streets, down east beast

MMNyc718: How would you describe the hip hop scene in Enfield, North Carolina in one word?

Derty Den: Fresh!!!!

MMNyc718: How does being from the south make it difficult to gain respect as an emcee?

Derty Den: Because of what they expect from a southern artist critics expect southern artist to just make snap and pop music but the thing is derty den can bang with the best of them if they don't give me respect imma take it either way imma get it so there's no need for critics to make it hard....Lol

MMNyc718: How do you plan to attack this machine that we call hip hop?

Derty Den: Like a defensive line and I'm blitzing every play putting the pressure on the quarterback...lmao

MMNyc718: Who or what are some of your biggest influences as a emcee?

Derty Den: My influences are the people and the motivation they give me I love my fans

MMNyc718: How would you describe your style as a emcee?

Derty Den: Very diverse I can switch flows and talk about anything it depends on how I'm feeling at that specific moment

MMNyc718: What would be the first thing that comes to mind when people listen to your music?

Derty Den: DAMN!!! How he be so nice?

MMNyc718: Why did you decide to release "Move" as your first single?

Derty Den: Well move over is the follow up from poppin which is a very big record right now so I had to come just as big after that because I know music baby!!!!

MMNyc718: Who are some of the producers you've worked in the past?

Derty Den: And who are some of the producers you would like to work with in the 2009?manifest is my main go to guy he produced poppin and move over that my dude,black jeruz,ski beats,digga,madizm,jimi conway,cdub,chaze,flawless,I have worked with a lot of producers the one I would love to work with is dr.dre and drummer boy

Derty Den: Very soon....lol

Madison Rocks (INTERVIEW)













MMNyc718: Where are you from Madison?

Madison: I am from South Side Jamaica Queens New York.

MMNyc718: When did you know you wanted to be a artist?

Madison: I knew that I wanted to be an artist since I was around 8. My brother had a rap group and I remember wanting to be like them.

MMNyc718: How long have you been homing your craft as a artist?

Madison: Well I have been homing my craft for a long time and everyday I learn something new to improve my artistic journey.

MMNyc718: Who or what are some of your biggest influences when it comes to your music?

Madison: My biggest influences I would have to say is My brother/manager Lovelace. Also my parents because both are true lovers of music.

MMNy718: How would you best describe your style of music? And is their a Genre that you want to be classified in?

Madison: I would have to describe my music as Alternative Rock/Rap. I don't believe that there is a Genre for my music which makes it more unique.

MMNyc718: What opportunities have been presented to you because you are an artist?

Madison: I have traveled in the states doing many shows. I have been offered to go overseas but I am so scared to fly that long lol!!!

MMNyc718: Who are some of the producers and artists you've worked with in the past? Who would you like to work with in the future?

Madison: I have worked with producers Rockwilder (Jay-Z, Janet Jackson etc), Teddy Riley ( Michael Jackson, Black Street, etc) Alan Plotkin (Rock Producer). I would like to work with Jonathan Davis (Korn), Travis Barker, David Banner, Tommy Lee, and Linkin Park.

MMNyc718: Do you prefer being a artist or being a song writer for other artist?

Madison: I prefer both actually. Writing for other artist gives me a chance to be a lot more creative for another person and then there is nothing like being an artist. When I hit that stage or booth the feeling is like no other.

MMNyc718: Can you give a brief rundown of your resume?

Madison: Well in the late 90's I opened up for many artist like Lil Kim, Mase, Biggie, etc. In 98 I won B.E.T's Teen Summit Talent showcase out of 6,000 other artist. I also did freestyle friday on B.E.T 106 in Park and was the winner for a couple of weeks. I have performed at Crash Mansion NYC, S.O.B's NYC, and other spots out of state. I have so much more info but you said brief soooo lol. This is just a little taste of my resume.

Madison: God willing very soon. I don't want to say a date because this music biz is nuts so like I said God willing very very soon lol.
